Slowly Catching Up

Since January this year, I have been the editor of the newsletter for our Folk Society. It must fulfill the writing urge for me, because I haven't been keeping up with my blog. Luckily, not only do I journal, but I also keep a small monthly planner, where I jot down things that are going on in my life.

At the end of April, according to my planner, my sister Beth came to visit with Mom and Dad for a couple of weeks. While she was here, her two daughters took the opportunity to visit, too. One day I kidnapped them and took them to my favorite places. First we went to the Vintage Vogue Goodwill store in Broad Ripple. Then we went to the Cake Bake, also in Broad Ripple. I love the Cake Bake so much!
At the Cake Bake with beautiful nieces, Nellie and Sarah.
Every year I have a wonderful display of Columbine (Aquilegia). I love them!
This is the Ohio River, taken from Madison, Indiana. I went to the River Roots Music Festival in May. I love music festivals!
At the River Roots Festival, there is an arts and crafts area. People have a chance to try their hand at pottery or sketching.
This girl was quite a hit. She walked around on stilts all day, pretending to be a tree.
I've done a lot of yardwork this year. Painting these shutters and window box was on my to-do list for a long time.
Another low-maintenance perennial that grow in my yard, Coreopsis.

I recently read that people collect Laura Ashley dresses. I found this pretty dress at Goodwill for $3.50. I sold it on eBay for $37.99, plus shipping. Fun!
Every year I look forward to our Folk Society's Eagle Creek Folk Festival. This was our 41st year! Here I am playing my dulcimer with a group.
Another of my favorite summer festivals, the Indiana Fiddlers' Gathering, held in Battleground, Indiana. We had perfect weather this year!
The Whipstitch Sallies! warming up backstage at the Fiddlers' Gathering. These girls are such fun to see.

More blogs to come, I  promise. If you want to encourage my blogging, leave a comment and/or become a follower!
