I have a new grandson!

Here is my daughter-in-law on Easter Sunday, the day before she went into labor.
The baby was born on Tuesday afternoon.

And here is the proud father holding newborn Nolan Charles!
Nolan was wide awake and looking around at us all right after he was born.
I love this picture of his tiny feet.
This is me holding my fourth grandchild.

A sweet baby mobile.
10 year old E holding his new cousin.
Squeeze me!
15 year old G holding his new cousin.
And 6 year old A holding her new cousin.
Mom meeting her newest great grandson for the first time. He is her 16th great grandchild.
We are all VERY excited!

100 ACRES

In celebration of the Spring Solstice, I went to a puppet/kite show at 100 Acres, part of the Indianapolis Art Museum. It was a beautiful Spring day, perfect for kite flying.
It was a very windy day, and the white wing-like kites were blowing hard.
Music was played and a drummer was drumming as the story unfolded.
The puppeteers maneuvered giant bird-shaped kites through the air, depicting the story of egrets migrating.

At the end of the show, the children were invited onto the field to fly the kites they had created earlier. It was a beautiful and colorful scene.

Easter Chicks

When I was a little girl in the '50's, at Eastertime we would go to Murphy's Five and Dime Store to look at the chickens and ducks that were for sale. They were kept on a table and they were dyed in pastel colors. We would hear their chirping before we ever saw them, and we were always delighted to see them! Sometimes there would be dead ones among the living, but I don't remember feeling sad about them, or guilty or shocked that they were dyed. It's just the way it was. I found an article in the Huffington Post about how they still dye chicks at Eastertime, only now they use psychedelic colors, and it is only outlawed in Florida. Funny, I still kinda want one,and I promise to take good care of it!

Bandit

This is my first blog using my new iPad. There is a lot to learn. First of all, you must download the Blogger ap in order to upload pictures. I'm learning as I go.

Here is a picture of A with her doggy, Bandit.
